Kristin Thorson, President
Kristin started Fibromyalgia Network in 1989 to improve patient education on fibromyalgia as well as helping to connect patients with support groups and knowledgeable healthcare providers in the United States. In 1993, she founded AFSA with the primary goal of advancing quality research on this disease. Kristin wrote over 500 articles on fibromyalgia during her 25 years of running the Network and continues to be instrumental in raising money for AFSA-sponsored research. She has Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Nutrition, Chemical Engineering, and Business. When not focused on fibromyalgia, Kristin enjoys gardening and dancing.
Jennifer Elizabeth Randle, CPA – CFO
Jennifer is a Principal for BeachFleischman where she leads the firm’s Technical Accounting and Assurance Group, and she serves as the Director of Quality Control. A certified public accountant licensed in Arizona and Virginia, Jennifer has worked in public accounting since 1994, and provides accounting, assurance, and consulting services to a variety of privately held companies. Her areas of specialization include healthcare and managed care, employee benefit plans, and accounting for business combinations. She has served on the boards of a variety of non-profit organizations and enjoys traveling and reading in her free time.
Steve Thorson, Vice President/Secretary
Steve is a retired Software Quality Control Project Manager from Aetna/CVS with Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Computer Information Systems. He has worked for companies such as Dow Chemical, Texaco Refining and Marketing, Fibromyalgia Network, VoiceTrak, Prime Source Surgical and Community Partnership of Southern Arizona. Steve has served on the Board of AFSA as a volunteer since 1994. During his spare time, he likes to weld sculptures and play with his grandchildren.
Brent Songer, CPA, MBA
Brent is a Family Tax Manager with TFO Family Office Partners. He has over ten years of experience in public accounting, working with almost all types of businesses, the related individuals, and their executive teams. Brent has an active CPA license in Arizona and Ohio. In his free time, Brent enjoys hiking, spending time with family and friends, and finding ways to create a positive impact on the communities and clients he serves.
